A vessel is only as good as its captain, and wizards of the school of navigation are among the best. Whether seafarer or landlubber, these wizards are expert pilots, hailing from a school that believes the most important book at a wizard’s disposal, aside from their spellbook of course, is an atlas.
This subclass includes a feature that relies on gold pieces. As a DM, if this feature would not function well in your campaign, you may want to adjust the cost of the feature to ensure it can be used. Alternatively, if you don’t want to adjust the feature but feel that the cost could still be too prohibiting, consider adding the following magic item, or a modified version of it, to your game.
