The Blade Priest is a variant of the Monk class that replaces the Monk’s focus on Unarmed Strikes with a focus on weapon use. With your DM’s permission, you can gain these features instead of the features that they replace. You gain no benefit from a replaced feature and don’t qualify for anything in the game that requires it.

Some of these optional rules render certain subclass features obsolete. Features from subclasses in the 2024 Player’s Handbook are addressed in the document below. You can also use this document as inspiration if you wish to adapt a non-PHB subclass to work with the Blade Priest rules.
